Breckenridge, Colorado

Breckenridge is one of the more popular mountain towns in Colorado. One of the main reasons why it is so popular is because of its ski resort just outside of the town. The ski resort is great for every type of skier from first timers to experts. In the summer the ski resort turns into a mountain biking course where you can ride the chair lift to the top and ride your bike down. They even have a biking trail just on the side of the road where you can ride your bike from Breckenridge all the way to Silverthorne.

Several things to do in Breckenridge

Another reason why Breckenridge is so popular is because of the shopping. On the main strip of downtown there are many unique stores only found in Breckenridge.  They have several great Colorado souvenir stores, great outdoor gear stores, and even great restaurants all over the strip. This is an outdoor town so I hope you love dogs if you come in most stores in Breckenridge dogs are allowed to come in! Most stores even have dog bowls outside for peoples dogs to get a drink as well.  All year round they have several events going on such as the ice sculpting competitions, blue grass concerts, and racing events. It seems like to matter what time of year you go to Breckenridge there is something going on.

Right outside of town is Lake Dillon and if you are lucky in the summer months you will see people on the water kite boarding. This lake is large for Colorado standards and is a great fishing spot or taking a boat out for a few hours. There always seem to be fly fishermen in town fishing on the river that goes through town.

If you are going to come to Colorado put Breckenridge on the top of your list. When I think of Colorado I usually think of Breckenridge or at least the activities that this town has to offer.
